We "broke ground" on the Chamber Office Renovation and our goals are to:
- Enhance the Image of Fergus Falls Business Community
- Highlight the RiverWalk and Otter Tail River
- Spark Downtown Riverfront Development
- Create a Healthy and Safe Space for Staff and Volunteers
Local contractors were invited to bid and the project was awarded to Chamber member Jensen Builders. Chamber staff moved to 403 S. Union Ave. temporarily and demolition began March 19. Jensen Builders worked through cold and snow to remove and rebuild the roof. They dismantled the interior, reframed walls and installed new Vector Windows. We are thrilled to feature many Chamber member businesses’ services and products and our office will be a "showroom" of our local high-quality businesses.
The renovation is a long-term investment for the future of the Chamber, the business community, and Fergus Falls. We saved $165,000 from 10+ years of special event fundraisers and voluntary contributions. Utilizing all local contractors and suppliers, we’ve budgeted $190,000 for "new" construction: gabled roof & shingles, windows & doors, electrical, LED lighting, plumbing (accessible bathroom), HVAC, insulation, and flooring. We’ll invest $85,000 in technology, furniture, signage, security, and landscape (including a riverside patio for everyone to enjoy).
No membership dues will be used for renovations. We are launching a capital campaign requesting gifts of $500-$10,000, pledged over 3-5 years. We are pleased that lead gifts have been pledged from Park Region/OT Telcom, Visit Fergus Falls, Minnesota Motor Co., Service Food, Pemberton Law and Otter Tail Minn/Dakota Coaches. Our goal is to finish the project on-time and on-budget by September 2018. We hope that you will join others and make a gift to update the "front door" of Fergus Falls. Pledges made by July 1, 2018 (not necessarily payments) will be recognized in stonework.
