Graffiti Art Workshops
Starting January 2018, Minneapolis-based SPRAYFINGER founder and artist, Peyton Scott Russell, will be conducting monthly workshops at the Fergus Falls Alternative Learning Center. Workshops are open to youth ages 13 to 18 years of age. ALC students have the opportunity for in-school sessions from 9-11:50 am on Jan 10-12, Feb 21-23, March 14-16, & April 25-27.
The Graffiti Arts project offers youth from Fergus Falls and the surrounding area an opportunity to learn about graffiti as an art form and includes a variety of art-making techniques, historical content, civic engagement, and social interaction opportunities.
Monthly workshops will culminate in a week-long summer camp in June (dates TBD), and communit...y members will have a chance to engage through exhibitions and a community-based mural.
*Learn graffiti as a fine art with concepts that speak to it as a movement, a source of communication, and the enhancement of community.
*Learn about the history of Graffiti Art.
*Create stylized fonts in the graffiti aesthetic using drawing, collage, painting/spraypainting techniques.
*Show your creations in exhibitions, murals, and collaborative group projects.
