Point of Impact/Teen Driver Safety Parent Awareness Program (Pre-register)

Traffic crashes are the second leading cause of deaths for teenagers. They are preventable. Research shows that teens whose parents set clear rules, paid attention to where they were going and who they were with, and were:

• half as likely to crash
• twice as likely to wear seatbelts
• 71% less likely to drive while intoxicated
• 30% less likely to use a cell phone while driving

than teens who said their parents were less involved. The Fergus Falls Police Department and the Fergus Falls School District hope to minimize teen traffic crashes by hosting the Point of Impact Teen Driving Program for Parents and their teens. The program, developed by the Minnesota Department of Traffic Safety (DPS) Office of Traffic Safety, is presented by the Fergus Falls Community Education office. This is a FREE presentation for teens 14 to 18 years of age and their parents. Upon completion, a Certificate of Completion will be issued to parents to be turned in at the exam station when your child takes the behind-the-wheel road test.
