Productive Alternatives Announces Merger
PRODUCTIVE ALTERNATIVES AND ALEXANDRIA OPPORTUNITIES CENTER TO MERGE
Fergus Falls (May 6, 2019) Productive Alternatives and Alexandria Opportunities Center are pleased to announce plans to merge organizations. The combined non-profit agencies will retain the name Productive Alternatives and will provide a continuum of employment services to over 500 individuals with disabilities.
“The partnerships between Productive Alternatives and the Alexandria Opportunities Center will meld our individual organizational strengths to better support persons with disabilities.” said Steve Skauge, President of Productive Alternatives. “I believe that together we are more strongly positioned to create service options for whom we serve.”
“We are very excited to unite two organizations that have over 94 years of combined experience providing employment options for persons with disabilites.” said Mike Burke, Executive Director of Alexandria Opportunities Center. “Together we can provide stability and a future to those we serve”
Over the decades, both organizations have been catalyts for the transition of individuals with disabilities out of institutional care and into community-based services. Joining forces will help create a broader continuum of services and further increase the effective and efficient delivery of support for persons with disabilities. Over the next six months, the two organizations will work to combine their strengths and assets.
