Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Matthew Lee, to our medical staff. He fills an opening in the Radiology Department following the retirement of long-time radiologist Dr. James Matter.
Dr. Lee received his medical degree at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks after attaining undergrad degrees in Russian Language at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA, and in Russian Studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He also studied Zoology at North Dakota State University in Fargo.
His professional experience includes over nine years of service as staff radiologist at Sanford Health in Bemidji, MN where he also served as the Radiology Department Chair from 2014 to 2017. He also served on the Board of Governors and the Physician Executive Council during his tenure in Bemidji. Most recently he worked for the Mercy Radiologists of Dubuque, Ia.
Prior to entering the medical field, Dr. Lee served in the United States Army Reserve as a Russian Linguist.
When asked about choosing to join the team at LRH Lee said he is excited about joining a local organization dedicated to delivering the highest quality of health care to its population. He also noted the opportunity to return to the area he grew up was too good to pass up.
Lee says he finds the diversity of each day exciting and rewarding due to the broad spectrum of general radiology.
In his spare time, he and his family enjoy athletics and staying active, particularly being outdoors, on the lake, biking, jogging and walking. As a family he said they also love reading and watching movies.
