  • Celebrate with a Chamber Visit

    * Ambassador Visit * Ribbon Cutting *Ground Breaking Event

The Chamber would be delighted to help your business celebrate with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony if the company has:

Breaking Ground to build , Opened its doors in the last 12 months – or has not received a First Dollar of Profit , Changed ownership or is under new management, Moved to a new location, or Has been remodeled or expanded at its present location.

A Chamber Visit is an important part of your over all marketing and advertising plan and is a great way to kick-off a grand opening of a business. It offers an opportunity to meet key leaders in the community and get acquainted with your neighbors and Chamber members. The Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce would enjoy assisting you in planning a successful event for your company. Having participated in hundreds of ceremonies, we know how to get optimum exposure for your company.

Chamber Staff & Ambassadors, from the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador’s Team, conduct the ceremony, take a group photo, and a certificate commemorating the opening. The Ambassadors begin with a welcome statement before the ribbon cutting and photos are taken to appear in the following month of the Chamber’s Newsletter. Scheduling a Ribbon Cutting or Ground breaking event with the Chamber should take place a minimum of two weeks ahead of the event to allow the Chamber time to invite members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and the Ambassadors to join your celebration. We will bring the large pair of scissors and/or our gold shovels the day of your scheduled Chamber visit Event.

Chamber Staff Members & Ambassadors will help to make things go as smoothly as possible by: 

We’ll notify the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Ambassadors, City Dignitaries and chamber members and encourage them to attend your event.  We’ll put you in touch with other Chamber businesses that can provide catering, deli and beverage services, publicity and even invitations. We’ll bring the gold shovels and/or giant scissors and take pictures at the appointed time. We’ll include a photo and acknowledgment of your Chamber Visit in an issue of the Newsletter.

There is no charge for the Chamber’s involvement -- it’s a value-added benefit of being a member. People generally anticipate spending about a half hour at the visit, so be prepared with collateral materials.

Checklist for a Successful Chamber Visit, Ribbon Cutting,  or Ground Breaking Event: 

Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Member Benefit: Networking

As a Chamber member, you understand the importance of building lasting relationships with the people you serve - businesses you work with and members of the community. As a Chamber Ambassador, you’ll receive the opportunity to network with a small group of members in an energetic and informative setting several times a year. Chamber Ambassadors visit 3-4 places the 2nd Wednesday of the month with each visit lasting about 20 minutes. Following a Q&A session, a group photo is taken and published in the “Chamber Update” in “The Daily Journal” and on our website and social media. We typically carpool to the first visit at 9:55am and wrap up the final visit no later than 12:00pm.

But as with any commitment, you have to be sure it’s right for you-

    Why Be an Ambassador?

To connect with members of the community and learn about area businesses, first hand.

To educate others about your business/organization and the products or services available.

To show your support for other businesses and the Chamber.

Who is on the Ambassador Team?

Chamber Members from both businesses and non-profit organizations can join, especially those people who are looking at making personal connections and building professional relationships.

What do I have to do?
