BMX Racing
Watch races Saturdays in mid to late May and Thursday evenings in June, July and August. Races are organized according to age and ability - open to all kids. Helmet, long sleeve shirt and long pants are required. I-94 BMX is located next to I-94 Speedway of Fergus Falls. Info Hotline: 218-739-5525.
Broken Down Dam
This city owned dam gave away in 1909, but the ruins create a beautiful, rustic, scenic attraction!! It is a great picnic area! Drive east on Mt. Faith. (Map in Fergus Falls visitors guide.)
Central Lakes Trail
This 55-mile paved “rails to trails” is 14 ft. wide and meanders through beautiful prairies, parks and lakes country. The trail begins in Fergus Falls and travel SE to Osakis where it joins the Lake Wobegon Trail, continuing to St. Joseph. Together, these trails provide 135 miles of beautiful scenery and wildlife, making this an inspiring ride. The fairly level grade makes it an easy ride for all ages. The Central Lakes Trail is also a serene location for walking, jogging, and in-line skating or snowmobiling in the winter. (Snowmobiles without studs are permitted). Fall Color Tour
For those of you unfamiliar with the beauty of fall in West Central Minnesota, a Fall Color Tour map is available from the Convention & Visitors Bureau. The great cross section of hardwoods indigenous to this area produce spectacular palettes of color that are breathtaking to behold. I-94 Speedway
Looking’ for some action? Head on out to I-94 Speedway for WISSOTA sanctioned races! Races are every Friday night in the summer - Green flag at 7:30 p.m. and gates open at 6:30 p.m. The speedway is located on the north side of Fergus Falls in the new Industrial Park. Call: 320-693-8370.

Glendalough State Park
There’s a bunch of things to see and do at Glendalough State Park!! Hiking trails thru rich hardwood forests, wildlife viewing wetlands, around park lakes and fishing are just a few of the things to check out there!! Park hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. The park is located 3 miles northeast of Battle Lake. The park entrance road is off Cty. State Aid Hwy. #16. Give them a call if you have questions! 218-864-0110.

Kaddatz Galleries
Kaddatz Galleries opened in June 2009 in the renovated Kaddatz Hotel in historic downtown Fergus Falls. The Gallery features the work of Charles Beck, a local artist whose work interpreting Minnesota landscapes has earned him the widespread respect of artists and collectors. Rotating exhibitions of other area artists will showcase the variety of artwork and the talent in the lakes area. 218-998-4405
Kirkbride Tower/Fergus Falls State Hospital (RTC)
Drive through the campus and marvel at the beauty of the architecture. The Kirkbride Tower, a castle-like historic structure built in the 1880s, sits on top of a hill at the north end of Union Avenue. It is one of the few remaining complete examples of a Thomas Kirkbride designed psychiatric hospital. The eight-story brick tower, capped with a red tile roof, is the centerpiece of the campus that once housed as many as 2,000 mentally ill patients. Tours are generally available Friday afternoons by calling 218-736-5328.
Maplewood State Park
Maplewood Park is a captivating 9,000-acre wilderness! The park is known for its irregular terrain, heavily wooded forests and numerous lakes. It’s open year round! Facilities in the park include a campground with electrical hookups, a swimming beach on South Lake Lida, boat ramps on South Lake Lida and Beers Lake, numerous picnic spots, hike-in camping areas, and forest demonstrations!! One Mile Prairie
Enjoy two miles of walking trails through native prairie, just on the edge of Fergus Falls. One Mile Prairie is approximately ¾ of a mile East on Hwy 210, take a left onto the 19th Street. Over 100 different species of native grasses and wildflowers have been identified.
Orwell Recreation Center
There’s a new dike, new rock shoreline and new playground equipment, south of Fergus Falls on Co. Hwy. 15on the Otter Tail River. It’s a great place for nature-watching, picnicking and fishing!!
Otter Trail Scenic Byway
From more than 1,000 sparkling lakes and wildlife filled wetlands to 19th century flour mills, scenic trails and spectacular roadside sculptures, the byway offers something for everyone! The byway goes 150 miles around Otter Tail County. Stop in at the Chamber for a brochure and map!
Otter Tail County Historical Society Museum
The Museum is recognized as one of the top county historical societies in Minnesota! Tourist information, Hirloom Garden, Exhibits, Gift Shop, and E.T. Barnard Library are what the museum is all about!! They are open all year around! Go check them out at 1110 West Lincoln Avenue. Museum hours are Mon-Fri 9:am - 5pm or call them at 218-736-6038.
Pebble Lake Golf Course
One of Western Minnesota’s finest 18-hole champion golf courses is located 2 miles south of Fergus Falls on Co. Rd. 82. They offer a state-of-the-art practice facility, golf shop, golf lessons, cart & club rental and full-service refreshments at Putters Bar & Grill. Public swimming at Pebble Lake beach is nearby. Phelps Mill County Park
Phelps Mill is one of the most peaceful places on earth! It is located 20 miles northeast of Fergus Falls on Cty. Rd. 45 near Otter Tail Lake. Phelps Mill is a beautiful park, offering a day of picnicking, walking through the park, touring the mill, fishing or browsing through the General Store across the street.
Pine To Prairie Birding Trail
The trail begins at its southern end in Fergus Falls and travels through Thief River Falls, Roseau and Warroad. The trail length is over 200 miles and 43 sites are located along or near the trail. Please call the Fergus Falls CVB for more info: 800-726-8959
Prairie Wetlands Learning Center
This unique 300 acre site includes 23 wetlands, 19 acres of virgin prairie, and approximately 175 acres of restored prairie grasslands. Visitor center is open Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. The grounds are open dawn to dusk throughout the year. Free admission! The Prairie Wetlands is located just south of Fergus Falls on Hwy 210 Bypass, I-94 Exit 57. Just call 218-736-0938.
Red Horse Ranch Arena
Red Horse Ranch Arena is the premier equestrian facility in the region. Located in the rolling wooded hills of West Central Minnesota, along the Otter Tail River, six miles north of Fergus Falls, RHRA facility is situated on 220 private country acres with trails and hills overlooking the Otter Tail River, with more than 144,000 square feet under one roof and lots of parking. Facility amenities include: indoor heated riding arena, indoor arena seating, indoor stall and paddock boarding, more than 200 - 10x12 stalls, seven wash racks, enclosed heated loading and unloading, cattle barn, outdoor arena with unlimited hillside seating, conference/meeting rooms, showers, more than 50 electrical hookups. Riverwalk
The riverwalk is a path that stretches along the south bank of the Otter Tail River from Union Avenue to the Veteran’s Memorial Park near Pamida. Access is available at the chamber office as well.
